Witt may have cooled off a bit down the stretch, but he’s still cleared this number in 63% of games this season, proving just how consistent he’s been. Now he gets a matchup with Logan Gilbert, a pitcher he’s absolutely owned in the past—hitting .500 with 3 walks in 15 career plate appearances. Given that track record and his overall form, this is a spot I really like for Witt to shine.
Paul Skenes MORE THAN 6.5 Strikeouts
Skenes has really elevated his game over the past few months, racking up at least 7 strikeouts in 7 of his last 9 outings. On the season, he owns an impressive 29.4% strikeout rate, and this matchup lines up perfectly for him. He faces a Cubs team that he’s already dominated, with 28 strikeouts in just 75 at bats against him—a massive 37.3% strikeout rate. Everything sets up nicely here, and I love this spot for Skenes to keep rolling.
