Cruz has consistently struggled with this line, staying under in 5 of his last 6 starts and 9 of his last 12 games overall. The matchup doesn’t do him any favors either, as he faces Jameson Taillon—a pitcher who has given him fits throughout his career. In 13 career at-bats against Taillon, Cruz has yet to record a hit while striking out 5 times. Given both his recent form and the history in this matchup, I expect Cruz to continue to struggle here.
Ranger Suarez MORE THAN 5.5 Hits Allowed
Suarez has cleared this line in 7 of his last 11 starts, but he draws a brutal matchup here against the Dodgers. Historically, Los Angeles has had his number, and the numbers back it up—over 67 at-bats, the Dodgers’ roster has hit .313 against him with a strong .488 slugging percentage. Given both his history against this lineup and the firepower the Dodgers bring, I expect Suarez to struggle in this spot.
