Andrew Heaney MORE THAN 3.5 Strikeouts

Andrew Heaney has been a bit up and down to start the season, but he’s still managed to go over this strikeout line in four of his six starts. His performances have ranged from dominant — including outings with 9 and 10 strikeouts — to quieter ones with just 0 or 2 Ks. Still, given the volatility, this line feels especially manageable for a pitcher with Heaney’s upside. He also draws a familiar opponent in the Padres, a team he’s faced 86 times throughout his career and struck out at a solid 25.9% clip. With that kind of history and a favorable number on the board, I really like the over in this spot.

Logan Evans LESS THAN 2.5 Earned Runs

Logan Evans impressed in his major league debut last week, limiting the damage to just two earned runs in a solid first outing. He now draws a highly favorable matchup against a struggling Rangers offense that ranks dead last in MLB in runs scored per game. In his debut, Evans showed an ability to generate soft contact and keep hitters off balance, though he was limited to just five innings — a cautious approach that’s expected to continue given his youth and limited big-league experience. With a likely short leash once again, this spot sets up well for a fade, and I like this angle even more considering the matchup and usage expectations.
