Matthew Stafford LESS THAN 32.5 Pass Attempts

Stafford has been forced to sling it in several tight games in a row, either playing from behind or trying to hold off opponents pressing the Rams late. Now he faces a banged-up 49ers squad coming in as 8.5-point road underdogs. While San Francisco’s defense is always tough, this feels like a spot where the Rams can finally control the game script. On a short week, I expect them to lean more heavily on the run and take some of the pressure off Stafford’s arm.

Christian McCaffrey MORE THAN o.5 First Drive Receptions

I’m digging deep into the bag for this one. In Mac Jones’ very first play of his first start a couple of weeks ago, he opened by dumping it off to Christian McCaffrey. Fast forward to last week, and the 49ers started with a pass to fullback Kyle Juszczyk before McCaffrey got involved with a reception later in that opening drive. It’s clear San Francisco is easing Jones in by giving him quick, easy throws to his backs, and I fully expect McCaffrey to see at least one target right out of the gate again here.
