Yusei Kikuchi MORE THAN 6.5 Strikeouts

Kikuchi has been racking up strikeouts lately, going over this line in 5 of his last 7 starts while averaging an impressive 7.5 punchouts per game during that stretch. He now gets a matchup with a Seattle lineup that ranks 23rd in the league with a 24.6% strikeout rate against left-handed pitching. Even more encouraging, this Mariners roster has struggled mightily against him in the past, striking out at a 30.4% clip across 92 career at-bats. This is a prime spot for Kikuchi to keep the momentum going, and I love the upside he brings here.

Spencer Torkelson MORE THAN 0.5 Strikeouts

Torkelson has struggled with plate discipline this season, recording at least one strikeout in 70% of his games. He’s carrying a 24.1% strikeout rate on the year, and now faces a tough matchup against Eric Lauer, who’s been especially effective against right-handed hitters with a 30.8% strikeout rate. Given the matchup and Torkelson’s tendency to swing and miss, this feels like a strong spot to back his strikeout prop.
