Charlie Morton MORE THAN 4.5 Strikeouts

Charlie Morton has experienced some inconsistency this season, but he recently put together an impressive five-game stretch where he cleared this line in each outing. During that run, he averaged just under 7 strikeouts per game while posting an elite 30% strikeout rate, showcasing his ability to miss bats at a high level. He now draws a favorable matchup against a Braves lineup that has been vulnerable against right-handed pitching, especially of late. Over the past month, they rank in the bottom five in strikeout rate versus righties at 24%, making this a strong bounce-back opportunity for Morton to return to form and rack up strikeouts.

Miles Mikolas MORE THAN 2.5 Earned Runs Allowed

Miles Mikolas has struggled mightily this season, ranking in the bottom 20th percentile across the league in both expected batting average (xBA) and expected ERA (xERA). He’s allowed three or more earned runs in four of his last six outings, and things won’t get any easier here. He’s set to face a Cubs lineup that has historically had his number, with 157 collective career at-bats against him resulting in a .318 batting average. On top of that, Chicago has been one of the most dangerous teams in the league against right-handed pitching, boasting the 4th-highest batting average and the 3rd-highest slugging percentage in those matchups. All signs point to this being a prime spot for the Cubs’ offense to explode.
