Matthew Boyd LESS THAN 5.5 Strikeouts
Boyd has been serviceable in the strikeout department this season, but he’s fallen short of this number in 5 of his last 8 outings, posting a modest 21% strikeout rate over that span. He now faces a Guardians lineup that has historically had his number, striking out just 9 times in 86 career at-bats against him—a remarkably low rate. Given the matchup and his recent form, this shapes up as a tough spot for Boyd to hit the over.
Willy Adames LESS THAN 7.5 Fantasy Points
Adames has struggled to consistently reach this mark, staying under in 19 of his last 33 games. His season-long numbers haven’t been encouraging either—he’s hitting just .210 overall and .237 against right-handed pitching. Now he’s up against a tough opponent in Zac Gallen, a pitcher he has never had success against, going 0-for-16 in his career. With his recent form and a brutal individual matchup, this line feels a bit too ambitious for Adames.
