MacKenzie Gore MORE THAN 6.5 Strikeouts
Gore has been dialed in this season, going over this strikeout line in 11 of his 13 starts while averaging an impressive 8.3 strikeouts per outing. He’s been downright dominant on the mound, ranking in the 96th percentile among pitchers with an elite 35.5% strikeout rate. He’ll face a Mets lineup that has seen him a fair amount—88 career at-bats—but hasn’t figured him out, striking out at a 25% clip over that span. With the way he’s dealing right now, I’m more than happy to keep riding the Gore train.
Brandon Lowe LESS THAN 1.5 Hits + Runs + RBIs
Lowe has certainly been swinging a hot bat over the past month, but he runs into a tough personal matchup here against Lucas Giolito—a pitcher he’s struggled mightily against throughout his career. In 12 career at-bats, Lowe has yet to record a hit and has gone down on strikes five times. While Giolito hasn’t been at his best this season, the historical edge is hard to ignore. With that kind of track record and some added value on the line, I like the extra juice we’re getting on the under for Lowe in this spot.
