Ryan McMahon MORE THAN 0.5 Total Bases
McMahon has been swinging a hot bat lately, going over this line in 12 of his last 20 games and in 4 of the last 5. He’s got a solid history against Jameson Taillon as well, hitting .333 in 12 career at bats. Taillon, on the other hand, has been hittable this year, allowing a .258 batting average while only generating a 20.2% whiff rate. I like this spot for McMahon, who’s one of the few bright spots in the Rockies’ lineup.
Hayden Birdsong MORE THAN 3.5 Strikeouts (Goblin)
Birdsong began the season as a reliever for the Giants but recently transitioned into a starter role, showing some solid promise in his first start with 4 strikeouts over 5 innings pitched. Now he faces a Tigers lineup that strikes out at a 22.8% clip against right-handed pitchers, which sets up nicely for him to build on that momentum. This discounted strikeout number for Birdsong is a great value play here.
