Seiya Suzuki has been off to an impressive start this season, consistently making hard contact and looking locked in at the plate. While he’s facing a pitcher known to issue some walks, Suzuki himself hasn’t been drawing many lately — he has just 2 walks over his last 17 games. Given how aggressive and dialed in he’s been, I like the value on the under here, even against a potentially walk-prone arm.
Carlos Rodon MORE THAN 5.5 Strikeouts
Carlos Rodón has been outstanding to start the season, showcasing elite swing-and-miss stuff with a 31.7% strikeout rate and an impressive average of 11.4 strikeouts per nine innings. While the Padres are typically known for their plate discipline, this particular roster has had trouble figuring him out. In 81 career plate appearances against them, Rodón has maintained a strong 30.9% strikeout rate. With the way he’s dealing right now and his historical edge in this matchup, I absolutely love this number for him today.
